myExpert Developer

myExpert Developer provides a powerful environment for the development of sophisticated production rule-based expert system and decision support solutions.

myExpert Developer is aimed at organisations that want a capable Windows Vista/XP based expert system/decision support development environment that can deliver sophisticated rule-based expert systems solutions to end-users.

Systems solutions developed with myExpert Developer are production rule-driven. The developer is concerned with creating expressions and rules that model the knowledge domain, rather that worrying about actual process logic. Managing process logic is the role of the inference engine. "Tell the computer what to know, rather than what to do".

myExpert developers create rules of the form IF A AND B THEN C. Developers use an intuitive drag-and-drop interface to facilitate rapid development, testing and deployment. Developers may create rulebases containing hundreds of even thousands of rules. In fact, the only constraints are available computer memory. (It is unusual for an effective expert system to contain thousands of rules however).

The antecedents and consequents of each rule can link directly to appropriate HTML and PDF documentation, thus enabling the integration of effective document retrieval

Forward and Backward chaining inferencing is fully supported. In addition, uncertainty is handled through the use of Certainty Factors. Thus, rules of the form IF A (certainly) AND B (certainly not) THEN C (possibly) are fully supported. myExpert uses rigourous "combined certainty factor" techniques to resolve conflicts between rules (ie rules that assert different certainties to expressions).

myExpert Developer hosts a customisable user interface with dockable/pinnable window panes. In this respect, the interface resembles MS Visual Studio. In addition, myExpert Developer features a host of user-interface features (such as drag and drop) designed to make developing an expert system development quicker and more intuitive.

Developers can create and fully test rule-based solutions using the Solution Builder, and then deploy those solutions to the end-user (requires myExpert Client).

It's easy to produce documentation for myExpert solutions. Expressions, rules, rulebases and solutions can all be linked, via URLs to HTML based documentation. Any documentation that can be rendered using HTML can be accessed from myExpert or from myExpert Client.

For example, suppose you produce a solution from a myExpert rulebase, that uses backward chaining to determine whether an investment product is suitable for an investor. At any stage, the end-user can access HTML and PDF based documentation which has been built and linked to the rulebase, and any expressions or rules within the rulebase. Naturally, any HTML/PDF resource around the world can be accessed.
